Established in 1914, as an insulation material manufacture company we have been partner with major electric manufacture companies such as Toshiba, Hitachi, Mitsubishi and Fuji to gain experience through the development of the industry.

  • 2019
    Built a new plant of NIPPON RIKA VINCENT INDUSTRIE in France.

    Production division of Nippon Rika Industries Corporation was transferred to Nippon Rika Energy Systems Inc.

    Acquired Iwafune Taxi and Fujioka Taxi.

    TOYO COMMUTATOR MFG CO., LTD. changed its name to NIPPON RIKA COMMUTATORS INC.

    Moved Adachi Giken Co.,Ltd. to Iino.

    Founded NIPPON RIKA FABRICATIONS CO., LTD.

    The new factory was constructed in Iino-cho, Fukushima Prefecture and the production of coil insulators began.

    Mr. Kuniyoshi Okuri was elected as president.

    New 15-story and 6-story office buildings were constructed in the head office location.

    Mr. Mitsuo Okuri was elected as president.

    With the entire movement of its production facility from Tokyo, the Tochigi factory was approved by JIS.

    A vertical-type impregnation coating machine was newly installed in the Tochigi factory and the manufacturing and selling of preimpregnated materials were started.

  • 1979
    Started manufacturing and selling unique mica materials, which were made with a newly developed mica paper "AR-MAT".

  • 1977
    The mica plates for electric heater use was approved by the UL Standard.

  • 1967
    The patent on "Manufacturing Method for Laying up Mica Splittings by Machine" had been applied and then published in Japan and overseas and the manufacturing operations began.

  • 1964
    A new factory was established on 36,000 square meters of land in Mibu-cho, Tochigi Prefecture and manufacturing operation began.

  • 1960
    Developmental work for manufacturing mica paper (reconstituted mica) completed successfully. The material was approved and specified as a standard material by leading electrical apparatus manufacturing companies, such as Toshiba Corp., Fuji Electric Co., Meidensha Corp., Toyo Electric MFG Co., etc. Coping with this market demand, line production started.

    Mr. Kazuo Okuri was elected as president.

  • 1947
    The company changed its name to NIPPON RIKA INDUSTRIES CORPORATION

  • 1926
    Obtaind the U.S. patent for heat resistive bonding material which could be applied to manufacturing mica plate for electric heater use.

  • 1925
    Started manufacturing and selling RikaLite (synthetic resin product).

  • 1923
    Introduced whole series of Micanite materials to the market, including commutator segment mica. These products were well accepted by the leading electrical apparatus manufacturers in Japan.

  • 1915
    Moved to the present location (Ohi, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo), and changed the name of the company to Nippon Rika Kogyo Co., Ltd. The company started manufacturing molding micanite, flexible mica sheets, etc.

  • 1914
    Nippon Micanite Seisakusyo was established in Ota-ku, Tokyo, by Mr. Torazo Okuri as the first mica-related products manufacturing company in Japan.
